THRSTY ΞΛRS MAY EDITION '13

THRSTY ΞΛRS

N.O.I.D

Big up to Midlands based DJ N.O.I.D (Wayne Handley) for this hypnotic mix. Amazingly deep - definite beats and killer vocals. To me this piece of work is really outstanding, innovative and mature at the same time.

For further information and his latest mix, please check out his Soundcloud here and if you’re diggin’ his stuff support the cause here!

And now: turn the music up, relax, and let it take you on a journey…

Colman Buckley

Thrsty Ears is back with some proper house vibes to pump you up for the weekend. :-)
.
Hailing from Ireland, 25 - year-old Colman Buckley is not a newcomer to the game.
He started making music seven years ago. Since then, he has released some techno tracks under the moniker Dualtec and in the past three years under the name Dog Days, teamed up with his friend Ray Taff.
But it is only more recently that he started producing his own sound:
“Only in the last four months have I felt I was ready to start making my solo material. Since making this decision I’ve been living in the studio trying to carve out my own sound, learning and progressing every day.”
All in all I would describe his music as fresh and groovy, shifting from lighthearted beats to pulsating beatlines, coupled with soulful vocals and popping snares, showcasing a wide variety of his taste throughout.
Colman has four EPs coming out this year on Local Talk Records, Music Is Love Records, 124 Recordings and Deso Records.
.
I will definitely play at least one of his tracks at my next gig and can assure you that this music will get your mind, body and soul into groovin’ at any time of the night.
Share and play his trax, follow him on Soundcloud. Also get “Down Low” for free here.
Check out the previews below + Enjoy!

AT LAST, RELIEF

By now you should all be familiar with Origami Sound’s outlier “Liar” (If you aren’t then slap yourself in the face, stop reading on immediately and go back to my very first post).
.
Anybody and everybody who knows me or reads this blog, truly knows that I love Liar and his music.
Everything he touches becomes gold so I recently suggested him to make a remix of Portishead’s “Biscuit”. One week later we get the result:
Yet again he blesses our ears with an addictive remix, a modern version of “Biscuit”, accentuated by its poignant vocals and simplistic perfection.
.
To my great joy he even dedicated the song to me… the New Year could not start any better than this.
Make sure to follow Liar on Soundcloud because 2012 has seen him bang out some well worthy tracks.
.
The Remix is available as a free download.

Time has gone by so quickly. This year I graduated with the BA in Fashion Design, finished my first menswear collection and started my monthly club night, named after my blog, Thrsty Ears     .…whew.
Tonight I got the awesome opportunity to throw the first edition of Thrsty Ears at King Size, a well known bar amongst Berliners.
A place for post-Vernissage throngs of gallerists, designers and trendster culture vultures. A really lovely place that never disappoints when it comes to making you move to good music.
So today you should get ready to hear the earth shake as my favorite tunes of 2012  hit you like a tidal wave. Together with my special guest Florian Andres we will bring you the best in deep house, Garage and everything in between.
For those who can‘t join us tonight: there’s gonna be a Live Set online soon.
I am wearing my Wonder Woman panties…so actually nothing can go wrong..
Happy New Year Y’all!
